The Northern Kentucky Institute for Strategic Prevention (NKISP) is grateful for all of the support we have received over the past 2 years that have helped us build the NKISP and be in a position where we can serve you. The NKISP provides various supports, services, and resources for a wrap-around approach to substance misuse prevention. With an educational focus, the main goal is to build capacity and sustainability in our schools for evidence-based prevention, by centering on building social-emotional skills and focusing on the whole student – both academically and emotionally. You may have participated in our curriculum and professional development opportunities. You may have joined us at our inaugural summit last year. You may have partnered with us for your school’s Red Ribbon Week plans. Or you may be a regular member of our Institute (we meet bi-monthly on Tuesdays from 8:30 – 9:30am, here is the Zoom link.)

Whatever embodies your involvement with the NKISP, we look forward to continuing our collaboration efforts with our local coalitions, hospitals, health departments, prevention agencies, and other stakeholders invested in children’s health. If you have not engaged with us yet, we want to know what you are doing in the world of prevention and what you need! We encourage you to peruse our website, learn about the services we offer, and make requests. Support is tailored specifically to your school or community, so please reach out and we will find our best way forward.

Featured topics and stories will continue to be added on our blog. Have something you’d like to contribute? Want the world to know what you are working on? We would be happy to feature different coalitions, agencies, schools, and other organizations making a difference for children’s health. Please reach out at [email protected] with your ideas!
