Catch My Breath Podcast
Adding to our No Limits EDU Podcast series, Christi and Abby discuss the Catch My Breath Vaping Prevention program as it relates to the topic of Explicit Instruction.
EPISODE #1: Parenting Through the Holidays, focuses on the many opportunities available during this time of year to discuss the risks of underage drinking and other drug use with kids. You’ll hear directly from three moms with children of various ages providing their unique experiences and how they handle these situations.
SAMHSA’s new “Talk. They Hear You.” campaign “What Parents Are Saying” educational sessions aim to inform parents and caregivers about the realities of underage drinking and other drug use, prepare them to talk with their kids about these issues, and motivate them to start these important conversations.
This year NKISP collaborated with many community partners to provide an annual regional vaping prevention summit to provide 110 NKY students with education about the dangers of vaping, tools to address their own mental health, and guidance on an ongoing advocacy project to share with their school communities. Our annual summit featured training and talks from substance misuse and trauma informed care/behavior experts, as well as educational activities to build capacity for prevention. There is something for everyone at our summits! (school and health care professionals, youth, coalition leaders, law enforcement, faith-based organizations, and stakeholders).
